Power Systems was founded in 1966 by Harley E.
Bergren. In 1982, Mr. Bergren retired and placed the operations
of the business in the capable hands of Gary Bergren, his son,
and David Thun, his first employee. Under the leadership of
these two individuals, the Company has dramatically increased
its product offerings and expanded its geographic reach.
Today, Power Systems is a leading distributor of hydraulic fluid
power equipment, such as pumps, valves, gear boxes,
differentials, hydrostatic transmissions and motors. The
Company’s products are sold predominately to OEMs located in the
Upper Midwest.
Power Systems has three other locations (Sioux Falls, SD and
Ankeny, IA, and Richfield, WI) in addition to its headquarters
site, and currently employs 45 people.
David Thun, President, CEO
Mr. Thun was the first employee hired by the Company’s
founder in 1968. He earned a two-year degree in Fluid Power from
Granite Falls, Minnesota College and has been instrumental in
developing most of the operational departments in the Company,
inside and outside sales, and the engineering department.
